No information about the file content a day after performing a successful folder backup to the cloud

Thread needs solution

Using Acronis True Image 2019 build 13660:

I performed a folder backup to the cloud (specifying 4 folders with a total backup size of about 160 Megabytes) to the UK server, configuring the backup as 'do not schedule' and password protecting the backup (as I normally do).

The backup completed ok, showing the usual bar with a different colour for each content type (documents, music, etc).

When I switched my PC on the next day and launched ATI 2019 and clicked on the backup the bar was all grey with the message 'No information about the file content' underneath.

I have performed the same backup (with a different backup name) to the France server (just in case this problem was only with the UK server), but the same thing happens.

Is anyone else having this problem ?

I have been having problems getting this feature to work - Steve Smith has also had the same problem that it have (see discussion in this thread). I did get it to work during beta testing, but cannot recall if I attempted a recovery. If the task is still on my test PC I will see if I have the same result as you have. No luck, task deleted. Will now try to replicate the issues.

Ian,

I have looked at the thread that you suggested.

Am I right in assuming that a new build of ATI 2019 is in the pipeline, and if so, would it be best for me to wait until this new build is available to see if this solves the problem ?

Les, not sure when any new build for ATI 2019 will be coming out.

I have just checked my own Cloud backups and find that 3 of them correctly show the content breakdown (all of which are Files & Folders backups) and 1 is exhibiting this issue (again!) and is a Disk & Partitions backup.  All of these are to the UK Cloud servers in London.

I have just kicked the latter Cloud backup task off to see if anything changes by doing so?

Sorry, I must have misunderstood.

In Renata’s comment on Friday 31st August at 16:49 in the thread that Ian referred to,

was the upcoming update actually for a beta test build (pre 13660) ?

It's just that the 'Acronis True Image 2019 Just Released' topic seems to have been posted on August 21st

Les, the update will be for the current public release version of ATI 2019 but I have no idea as to when this will be made available.  My Support Ticket # 03451747 is still open and being investigated but was dealing with seeing 'Network disconnected by timeout' for any of my backups, not the loss of content detail.

At present my Disk Cloud backup is sitting with 'Connecting to Acronis Cloud...' at 0% complete and has been since it was launched just before 6PM UK time - 2 hours ago.  This suggests to me that there is another issue going on with the UK Cloud server(s) where the ATI app is not communicating with the server to get the content detail information!

I tried to replication the issue with files and folders backup.

I have seen a similar issue to the one Steve Smith noted with "no information about backup" for a local backup, not a cloud backup. I have reported the problem to Acronis.

Did a random check of backups, both local and cloud and did not find empty backup. Some did not report correctly all the backups (an error that I have only seen in ATI 2019; not sure if it was in either beta). Also one with no content message and another than claimed it had never been run. Both were local backups; ones that I had stopped scheduling and replaced with new tasks.

Ian

My own Cloud backup task started over 24 hours ago is still stuck "Connecting to Acronis Cloud" at 0% completed and thus is preventing any other tasks from running.  The task cannot be paused or cancelled!

I have opened a Support Ticket for this along with submitting an Acronis System Report and Wireshark trace etc.  Will update with ticket number when known!

File Explorer shows contents of backup folders briefly, then says "Folder Empty"!

I've just installed ATI 2019, having upgraded it from a "no-frills" WD OME version and have initially set the software to do both a full computer backup on a weekly basis and a non-stop backup for key documents to an external WD hard drive.

Using File Explorer to check the contents of my Acronis backup files, I'm initially able to drill down and see exactly what folders have been backed up as part of the full weekly backup, including the contents of my C drive.  I can do this for every backup, both full and incremental.  However, within a short time (a matter of minutes at times), when I go back to any specific backup file and click on the C drive folder to open it, it says "Folder Empty".

Also, during the short periods when I am able to check the contents of the C drive, I find that while its backing up pictures, videos, etc, it's not backing up my documents, which are of course the most crucial thing I need it to do.

Any advice would be most welcome as I'm really at my wits end, having thought I was buying the best back-up software in the business, I am now left feeling totally unprotected in the event of a hard drive crash or worse.

Sorry about that, Steve.  Many thanks for the welcome and the speedy reply; I have now opened a new topic as requested.

I created a new topic a couple of hours ago, Steve, but can't see it anywhere on the forum.  Not sure if I've done something wrong.
