TIH 2015 Locks Up Laptop

Thread needs solution

I just reloaded my laptop with Windows  10 Pro to a new SSD.  When I reloaded TIH 2015, the laptop locks up  within a few minutes of booting.  I thought  that  it  was Office for a while  until I realized that if  I  do nothing, it still locks up after I attempt to use any program.  I uninstalled 2015 and no lock ups.

Anyone have  any  thoughts about this?  I am considering getting 2018 but  don't want  to  make the move it  it  won't run any  better.

regards,

Chuck, please ignore my update in your other post (cloning) about doing a clean install if you are installing on a new install of Windows 10 for this issue.

This issue sounds like it may be caused by having the Windows 'God mode' folder on the desktop?

See forum topic: Windows 10 Creators Update problem - where this was reported a while back.

Hello Steve.  Thanks for the link.  I read the thread and didn't see that anyone else was having my issue (pc freezing).   Also, I do NOT have the God  Mode folder on my desktop.  Any other  ideas?  Thanks

Chuck, assuming that you are able to get to the Services control panel, then disable all Acronis Services except for Scheduler 2. to see if that makes a difference.

Also, please ensure that you are installing build #6613 for ATI 2015 which was the final build to be released.  If needed, download the full installer from your Acronis account and try installing (after checking that the checksum is correct).

There is a Windows batch script file that you can use to automatically stop & disable all Acronis Services if you need to use it.  This is found in the MVP User Tools and Tutorials repository - see the Useful Links section in the forum.

Note: the script stops & disables the Scheduler 2 service, so you should comment that line out to leave it active (use :: at the start of the line).
