Acronis says "Backup is invlalid."

Thread needs solution

After completing a full backup, an email is sent to me saying "Backup task completed successfully ", but a message appears on backup screen display saying "The back up is invalid."

What does this mean and how would I go about fixing this.

The same is true for me. The backup was validated immediately after creation. Restoring the backup fails.

My problem was I was up all night rebuilding my computer and looked at my wife's computer and misread the message.  I mistook the word "valid" for "invalid".   I'm sorry your problem is not so simple.

I found the cause of my problem. This was not due to the software, but to the overclocking of my RAM.

I don't know what that means, or how you fixed it, but I'm glad you did.  (:-))

Overclocking RAM is used to get higher performance from the memory chips but can also result in a degree of unreliability if getting to the 'bleeding edge' of that performance, especially when RAM is being used in intensive applications such as creating an Acronis backup image.
