Survivalit of 2019 requires Windows ADK installed?

Thread needs solution

I use 2019 now, and created Survival kit on my backup disk.

Is it necessary to install Windows ADK before using this survival kit?

The manual says that ADK must be installed when we create Windows PE based recovery USB.

If you have already created the Survival Kit, then there is no need for the Windows ADK.  ATI will use the Windows Recovery Environment for the WinPE files needed by the Survival Kit or else will create the Linux version of the Rescue Media.

Thanks for reply!

Is it still necessary to install Windows ADK when creating Windows PE recovery media?

And also do you have any plan to use Linux as survival kit OS instead of Windows PE?

If your Windows 10 Recovery Environment is setup and working correctly, then the Windows ADK is not needed as the WinPE Rescue Media can be created from the WinRE files.

ATI defaults to creating the Survival Kit using the Linux version for Legacy/MBR systems whereas it will attempt to use WinPE for UEFI/GPT systems.

If you assign a drive letter to the Survival Kit 2GB FAT32 partition via Windows Disk Management, then you can use the normal Acronis Rescue Media Builder program to update the partition with either the Linux or WinPE version of the Rescue Media.
