Incrementing and restoring a TI2010 archive with TI 2011

norman,
In my opinion, I believe you are placing your backup safety at risk by using 2011 to increment a 2010 backup. They are two distinctly different backup programs. Yes, it may(?) work but why take the chance. Why not start fresh with a 2011 full disk backup with all partitions included.

Yes, 2011 will restore a 2010 backup.

The reason I asked is that I tried 2011 and had all sorts of problems and bugs. I then removed it and went back to 2010. I have three systems and five drives so I have quite a few Archives and it's a bit difficult and time consuming to replace everything. When 2011 increments a 2010 archive does it become a 2011 archive unreadable by 2010? thanks

You won't know until you try but my guess is that any backup created by 2011 cannot accurately be read by 2010.

2010 might be able to read the 2010 portion as you can control which file you choose. Maybe file dates can help.
