Snap Deploy changing drive letters when creating Image?

Thread needs solution

I am attempting to image a Lenovo x100e laptop running Windows 7 32bit. When I load Acronis Master Image Creator, I see that Acronis has re-lettered my drives. My system/boot drive is labled as C: and my main drive is labled as D: Other laptops (different models) running Win7 have the same issue.

I need my drives to retain the same letters as the original. How do I keep Acronis from re-lettering my drives? Changing the drive letters in Windows after the fact is not an option.

I did not have this issue in Windows XP, only 7. Any ideas?

Hello Rodney,

Thank you for your message. I will certainly help you with this question.

There is nothing to worry about, the bootable media that we use is based on Linux and it uses different naming convention. I would recommend to give your partitions clear labels and make sure to plug your USB drive after you have booted from the media to avoid receiving the drive letter of your system partition. You can also check this KB article for additional information.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
