Downgraded back to True Image 2010
Hi Guys,
after several very disappointing tries to work with ATI 2011, I downgraded back to
ATI 2010.
Backup of my Windows Partition to the Secure Zone now needed 30 minutes again, a great improvement compared to ATI 2011 where it needed more than 2 hours to finish.
The Backup to my NAS needed 2 hours with ATI 2010 and worked something that was not possible with ATI 2011, where the Backup ran for 6 hours and didn't finish with the error message that the backup location was not found.
Scheduling works fine in 2010 etc., etc.
ATI 2011 is not even Beta. I will check back in a few weeks or months to see if there is any progress

Or if you made a backup of the disk before you switched from one version to the other, just restore that backup. I find this the fastest and cleanest way to get back to the old version.

I also could not get 2011 to work with NAS or file servers. I have a valid 2011 key - where can I download to 2010 (or is this even possible?) ATI 2011 is useless to me.

Does this mean that a 2011 license key works on 2010 version too?

Giles,
What Keith was suggesting was to return to a prior state. The user was already the owner of the prior version.
If you have purchased 2011 and do not own 2010. You may convince customer service to void your 2011 license and give you a 2010 license or provide a refund. I am not an Acronis employee so you will need to convince them of what you want to do.
A new build for 2011 is due out--probably within the next few days. I suggest you look at this as the fix will have been made for some of the "bugs". The overall feel and look wil probably be the same but more of the features will be more trouble-free.

The user to wich Keith was responding has written "I upgraded from TI2009 to TI2011 yesterday."
So for him, "previous version" is TI2009

According to their webpage, Acronis offers a 30 day guarantee. During that time, you should be guaranteed either free support or a refund. I would imagine that they would prefer you use the 2010 prior version rather than a refund. If they provide a 2010 version, they will simply make the 2011 version serial void for further use. They want happy customers so the choice is really yours.

You have probably misunderstood:
I was replying to Keith G who has written "Just uninstall 2011, reboot and install 2010." in reply to
Mark Hartmann who wrote "I upgraded from TI2009 to TI2011 /../ I would like to uninstall TI2011 and install TI2010"
My purpose was to point out that, probably, in that case (after 2009 to 2011 upgrade), switching back to 2010 version was not a simple matter of reinstall since Mark had only a 2009 licence.

I am also downgrading to TIH2010. 2011 is so flawed I cannot beleive this was released. I have been fighting with TIH2011 for about 2 months and just give up. If i was given an option to get a full refund i would take it immediately. Everytime i use it I find more problems. I was keeping track of all the bugs i experienced but it just got out of hand. Why should i spend my valuable time contacting tech support telling them about problems which should have been addressed before it was released. Tech support also wasted my time by suggesting fixes that i had told them i had tried in my initial email. Obviously this new version was not beta tested properly at all and i am extremely dissapointed. If i do not end up getting a refund (Acronis tech support take note) i will use 2010 until i can find another company that will provide me with a reliable backup solution and i will never deal with Acronis again.

Darren,
Support does not monitor every posting on this forum. You should be pro-active and contact Customer Service yourself on the Acronis Home page. Based on your experiences, they is a good chance they will honor your request for a refund but you will have to initiate the contacts.
The release of a new build is due very soon. It has fixes for some of the flaws that have been reported. The overall appearance probably won't change but the functions should work better.

IF you have a list of bugs it would be helpful if you posted what you have or at least send it to acronis. Think of it not so much as helping Acronis but as helping acronis users.

I am tired of waiting, this should have never happened. From what i can tell after 30 days they will not issue a refund and support is available if you pay...

They had the opportunity for me to work with tech support and list the bugs and problems i found. Tech support was a joke, they did not bother to read my first email properly otherwise they would not be suggesting things i told them I already tried. This went on for 4 or 5 emails back and forth. Eventually i got so annoyed with them i just gave up and did not respond anymore.
I am all for helping my fellow user but i refuse to waist any more time with this terrible product. I suggest everyone downgrades to 2010 or find an alternative backup solution and we all demand a full refund. I even think a class action lawsuit could be established because I have not heard of anyone being able to use this version without some kind of major issue...

I tried getting Acronis to give me a version of TIH 2010 in the place of the 2011 I purchased. No go. They preferred to give me my money back instead. That's good business practice!
