Dear Acronis Users.

I just bought a crucial M.2 SSD of 500GB and install it in my Lenovo Ideapad y700 laptop (hard disk of 1 TB). When cloning the information from my old disk to the new SSD an error occurs. This is the log file:

More information would help in assistance. What version and build of ATI are you using. Did you do the clone from within Windows or using the recovery media. Did you check out the error message and was there a useful description. Does the PC boot after doing the cloning? You will have problems when trying to reboot if you do not first disconnect the old drive and the new and old drives will have the same disk signature. Have you also verified in the BIOS/UEFI that the M.2 drive is selected as the boot device?

Update: I see that the first error is format resize related, which may indicate insufficient space on the M.2 drive, but this should have been flagged before your tried to do the clone. The accepted wisdom is that it is better to do a backup and restore rather than a clone and cloning can sometimes go very wrong, although this is less likely with newer versions and builds of ATI.

Hi,

I don't know if you solved this but I've had the same problem (Error 0x101f6: A format/resize error) when trying to clone my 300gb hardrive on to a Crucial MX500 2.5 inch SSD.

After several hours of wasting my time I discovered that my C drive had errors (discovered this when I tried to create an image of the drive).  I managed to repair the errors and then when I tried to clone it again, it worked.

Hopefully this post will save others hours of wasting their time.
