Making rescue media

Thread needs solution

Hello,

is it possible to make rescue media (linux based) that will recognize disk's partition in linux notation (for example, /dev/sda1, /dev/sda2,.... etc.

I have made rescue DVD (linux based media) but still when I make and restore image I can see Windows drive letters (for example for /boot is D, for / is E, for /var is F etc.).

How to make drive media that will be used to make images of linux system and which uses linux notation?

Thank you!

Askic, welcome to these public User Forums.

The Acronis Rescue media can backup and recover Linux file systems using EXT2/3/4 formats but the software is intended for use by Windows users, so the focus will be to present information about partitions in the notation that is familiar to Windows users too.

I have used the rescue media to backup & recover my Ubuntu Linux computer with no issue.
