Clone New PC Before First Use or After WIndows Initialization

Thread needs solution

Purchased a new PC.  Should I clone the drive before my first use or after windows does its initialization.

When I tried to clone the new PC using bootable media the hard drive was not found.  I am assuming the drivers are missing from my bootable media.

Entirely your choice as to when you might do this, but you will obviously need to use the boot media to do this before first use, whereas you can install ATI if doing so after Windows has been activated etc.

Depends on both the type of boot media used and the type of internal drive in the new PC.

Some internal drives may also use RAID to achieve higher performance, i.e. NVMe M.2 drives where WinPE boot media will probably be needed with additional drivers.
