Confirm DD12 Installed

Thread needs solution

I have ATI 2018 and ADD12_3270_en-EU(just noticed EU) installed, I want to upgrade DD12 ADD12_96_en-US. Was installed in correct order, after reading this Article 61428 here.  Do I need to use the "Acronis True Image Cleanup Utility"?

Thanks

Hello IDK,

Thank you for your posting! If you install an update for Acronis Disk Director 12, then it will also replace some components in Acronis True Image 2018. So yes, I'd still recommend running Acronis True Image Cleanup Utility after uninstalling both products to make sure there are non remnants in the registry that might prevent correct installation afterwards.

Please follow the instructions from https://kb.acronis.com/aticleanup carefully, do not forget to remove snapman*, tdrpman*, fltsrv, timounter strings from the UpperFilters and LowerFilters before rebooting the machine.

Another option would be having only Acronis True Image 2018 installed on the desktop and using Acronis Disk Director 12 from a bootable media on demand.

Thank you!

This is a very useful post.

But, I missed the announcement for ADD12_96_en-US and didn't know it was available until I tried to download a new copy of #3297.

I gather this is the latest version, but I am a bit confused about the version numbering. I guess I would have expected a sticky post in this forum.

Hello Ekaterina

I think everything went OK. In the SNIP below I did not delete "# Do you want to remove extended capacity disks? [y/n]" for whatever reason. Is this a leftover from making a previous dual boot usb of TI2018/DD12? There is an option when making one. Just curious.

SNIP from aticleanup cmd
# Starting the explorer.exe process...
# Deleting shortcuts...
# Do you want to remove extended capacity disks? [y/n]
# > n
# Uninstallation was completed.
# It is necessary to reboot the machine.
# Do you want to reboot the system now? [y/n]
# > n
# Press "Enter" to close the tool.
#
SNIP end

After reading what CC said I had DD12 3297(US/EU?) installed, probably updated at that time. I referenced from my download files.

Hello CC,

There are no new features and bugfixes included in this build except several minor security fixes, that's why we didn't announce it. You may download the build ADD12_96_en-US or stay on 3297 as well.
