Is 2011 really worth buying

Thread needs solution

Is 2011 really worth buying, as many reviews from users say it's full of bugs and don't buy it etc? Yet 'experts' say it is great! I have the 2010 version on a PC using Windows XP and am considering purchasing the 2011 version for a laptop using Windows 7 Pro. However as I'm not an expert, reading the reviews of 'users' seem to point to the fact that the 2011 is a problem. So I'm wondering why don't I just use one of the free options out there.

Appreciate some useful guidance please. Thanks

Listen, man: I am not sure what problem is? If you no like- no one has a machete to your head to force you to buy it. It is simple as that, lol. Much like gounesh, the indian elephant God, with many arms, you have options when it comes to anything. Thank's

As a long time user of ATI since version 7 and one who finds 2011 to be buggy, I still use it, and expect any bugs to be addressed in the future, because it works. Would I go back to version 9 I used for years, in a flash but I remember the same situation around version 8 and it was fine. Trial it and see how it is on your machine, specially the Boot CD, I tried some of those free versions but returned to ATI every time.

Hi Victor

That's very helpful; that's the advice I was looking for. Thanks for your help.

Kind regards

Hi all,

now i buy it for clients, i must use it.
So, it's first a little surprising on the interface, cause you see a very poor interface.
I m a little disappointed because there is no calendar, no general view of your future and past sheduled backup like on ATIH2010.
Error logs are not clear too, that s my impressions..

I don t have tried the soft enough time to say more about it,
but, it s still working , i have use it on xp pro SP3, and 7 pro 64 and I still appreciate the help acronis bring with their products.

regards

Alani,

I understand you already got the help you were looking for, and that's good. Actually, this is the fourth version of ATI I have used and, as I have stated before, my opinion is this is the worst of them all.

This said, I must also add: Worst, in all respects but one -- All the versions I used worked exceedingly well; I never had a problem either backing up or restoring. So, in this respect, ATI 2011 is as good as all the previous versions. Which is great!

The reasons why Acronis chose to present this year's version with the looks of a simple beta version is beyond my comprehension.

Just one more thing: When looking at other options in the market, I still doid not found one that could yank me from Acronis... And this is a meant as a compliment!

Cheers.
