how to setup Sequential FULL backups?

Thread needs solution

I can't figure out how to setup a backup set that is always full and the new one does NOT delete the old one.

I want something like Quicken where I can setup the file name to always append the current date.

e.g. I select a set of folders to backup.

I give the set a name "MySportsStatistics"

Backup every week, but keep old backups until I decide to delete them.

Clive, please see forum topic: Customize the tib.tis file, unable to save in TI 2018 - which will help getting your file names to have the date included.
Note: the .tib.tis files are held in the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder - these are XML data files where the name of the task they relate to is shown near the top of the file.  Be careful when editing the file contents.

See the sample settings in my screen shot below for how to create multiple full backup images.

The above settings would create 10 Full Backup files before then removing the oldest file after the next new full backup file was created.

Acronis appends it's own file name to the name of your backup (Bx_Sx_Vx) so you won't be able to use dates for each file name.  Please see the user guide:

https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2018/index.html#37737.html

However, you'll be able to determine when they were created with the date in Windows File Explorer or from within the GUI.

If you don't want them to automatically delete and want to delete them manually as needed, disable the automated cleanup option, or leave it enabled, but set the "store no more than" option to a preferred # of backups to keep before it automatically cleaning out the OLDest version.

If you want more availability of manual cleanup directly in Acronis, you'll need 2019, which brought back the missing functionality of this between 2016 and 2018.

And in 2019, you can also use "clean up versions"
