There are many reasons why this may the case. To get assistance may I suggest that you repost in the ATI 2018 forum. When doing so please give information on the build of ATI 2018 you were using to do the clone; was it the iso downloaded from the Acronis www site (via your account) and if so when did you download it (it may be an outdated version) or was it created from within ATI 2018, if so was it Windows PE/RE recovery media or Linux.

Also please include details of the operating system used, for example Windows 10 Pro build 1809. [Are the OS identical on both PC's, if not provide details of both.] Do the PC use BIOS or UEFI? What size is the new HDD? What file system was used by the new and old HDD (MBR or GPT). Before doing so it would be useful if you read through this thread (it deals with ATI 2017 but much of what is said is applicable to ATI 2018).

Hello ,

I used acronis true image 2018 iso cd but I do not rememer the date of download. I used the pc which has windows 7 home . But clonned hdd is working on Windows 7 Embedded . I do not know the PCs use bios or uefi  and also I checked the  HDDs from acronis "about disk info"  original one MBR and second disk GPT. The size of the old and new harddrives are same and same brand.I checked the cloned harddrive everythning same as older but it does not boot when I remove the old drive and insert clonned one  but clonned HDD works on pc which I used to clone hard drives . So I have some questions ,

1- Do I have to perform clonning in pc which I used the clonned HDD after clonning operation?

2- If I get backup by using acronis true image and recover it to the new HDD , does it incluede everyting ( operation system , programs , folders .. ) and become bootable HDD?

3- If I convert the GPT HDD to MBR and perform clonning does it work ?

If your original HDD was in MBR format and the cloned HDD shows as being in GPT format, then this shows that the system where you did the cloning was using UEFI, not Legacy as the boot mode, or that you booted the Acronis rescue media in UEFI mode on that system.

The boot mode used for the cloning (or recovery) determines what format the target drive will have when the action is completed.

If you boot in UEFI mode - the HDD will be GPT
If you boot in Legacy/CSM mode - the HDD will be MBR.

The best way to avoid this type of issue is to perform the cloning on the original computer where the HDD is normally installed.  Please ensure that you have a full disk backup of the source HDD before taking further actions - this is your safety net in case of any mistakes or issues arising!
