PC using Acronis TIH 2009 just died, can I install this version of Acronis to Win 7 operating system?

Thread needs solution

Acronis True Image Home 2009 was installed on XP professional operating system. This PC just died.

Will Acronis True Image Home 2009 work on Windows 7?
Can we obtain documents from a Acronis backup using Windows 7?

Valarie,

TIH 2009 won't install on W7, Windows 7 won't let it. You will be able to use the recovery CD to recover you image, but as far as documents are concerned the answer is no unless you've made a WindowsPE/BARTPE recovery CD - only because these are Windows environments and so can run TI 2009 itself.

The only temporary thing I can suggest apart form the obvious of purchasing an upgrade to 2011, which will be able to mount your image and therefore you'll be able to access your documents, would be to download the trial version in order to recover your documents.

I've assumed in the above that your image is a disk or partition one, if it is a files and folders one, then you will be able to recover them via the CD.
