Hello,

Different tasks doing different things that require different time - this is an apples to oranges comparison. I can wipe a disk immediately with the click of a button, but it takes hours to load a new OS and applications onto the same disk too. Backing up and recovering, although using the same tool to accomplish this, need to do what is necessary under the hood to complete the processes. I've compared several backup products side by side and Acronis restore time beats them all inimost cases, often by several minutes or more. Just let it do it's thing and do something else in the meantime while it's working.

Windows 10 pro
USB 3 stick simply starts up quickly
if it is started and I am going to recover then it certainly takes 5 min to 6 min before the recover starts

Wim, the speed of the boot disk is not the core issue here, but rather what other disk drives are connected and what Acronis backup .tib files are on those drives?
The recovery process will look for such files on all available drives, so the simplest way of testing would be to have a single drive with a single .tib file to see the difference in time for the recovery to start.
