               2 Dir(s) 3,246,038,728,704 bytes free

Can I just delete the empty files or will I screw up my backup index?

Cheers!

Andy,

I would recommend that you use the applications GUI to delete these empty backup files as doing so will reconcile that backup database which should result in a smooth, no surprises process.

You can right click on a backup file name in GUI and select Open location to navigate to these problem files.  Click select the one you wish to remove then, right on it and select Delete.  You will have the option to delete that file only or delete the file and remove the backup.  Select Delete the file only.

Thanks!
