Best Practice Suggestion

Thread needs solution

I'm a recent convert from the Norton products and I'm looking for a best practice for backing up using True Image Home 2011.

I want to do an image backup of my office computer to a USB hard drive. Actually two, and keep one off site. I would trade the drive out once a week, probably on Monday.

My thought is to do a full backup on Monday, then incremental backups each day of the week through Friday. Is there an option to erase the drive or data sets on Monday before the full backup?

I used a Backup Scheme called a "Version Chain". The default scheme creates a series of backups. They consist of one full and several differential backups. In the default scheme the series are erased after 6 months. It looks like there is a custom scheme that allows you to adjust several parts of the operation. The test I just concluded worked as expected restoring a fresh drive in about 5 minutes.

I'm very pleased so far with the performance of the product. I'm less impressed with the response here on the forum. I know the original question was quite basic. However, it took me a while to pick up on the terminology and get rolling in the right direction. A two sentence reply would have saved me a couple of hours of "is that what they mean?". I would hope some company engineers would be trawling the forums to answer questions like this. If you won't respond to a simple question, what should I expect when I have a tough one?

One reason you did not get any replies is that you posted inside a forum which has zero traffic.

When a post is made on the Acronis forums, most of the responses will be from volunteers. Aconis support does not see or monitor every posting.
