True Image 2016 not working after upgrading to Win10

Thread needs solution

Hi!

I've been using to TI2016 for ages to automatically backup my PC at night and never had any problems.

A few weeks ago I finally did an upgrade of the OS to Win10 (upgrade installation; no NEW installation!) and

since then the scheduled backup is not working anymore.

Any ideas why the scheduled backup stops working after an upgrade to Win10?
Manually triggering the backup works of course.

Frank, the main reason why a Windows upgrade can stop the backups from working is simply because the upgrade changes the partition unique identifiers (UUID) for the partitions selected for your Source and/or Target locations.  Re-selecting your partitions should be enough to resolve such issues. The UUID's change because Microsoft adds a new Windows Recovery partition and may remove any unwanted older hidden / system partitions.

I did that... but it didn't help. As I said: Manually starting the backup works.

What I noticed: In event viewer I saw an error:

"Scheduler failed to run task with GUID 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' because of error 5 (Access is denied.).

Maybe it's related to this? But if it is: How to solve it? I didn't find anything useful but many complaints

here.

Do you have Windows 10 #1903 installed?

Ok, build #1903 introduces a new issue due to the new sandbox feature with a hidden virtual read-only drive, but with #1709, the scheduler issue is probably exactly what it says, you are not running from an Administrator account which is a requirement for ATI to work correctly?

No. The one and only account is an administrator account!

Any other idea?

PS: The account seems to be a "local system" account; and Scheduler service is running

using this one.

The next suggestion would be to perform a Repair Install of ATI to see if that will correct this issue?

To do a repair install, simply reinstall ATI over the top of your existing application without doing an uninstall - this will give you options to either Repair or Uninstall.
