Did diskcleanser on USB drive, now win7 doesn't see

Thread needs solution

I have a seagate external usb drive, tried to clone my c:\ to it, didn't work (I should have known, but I'm new to this stuff), and to 'start over', I did the acronis diskcleanser, and now windows 7 doesn't even see the drive at all.

How can I get back to just having a formatted usb drive? Thank you. Dave

Does the drive show up in Windows Disk Management?

Does it show up in TI (Add New Disk Wizard, for example)?

Either of those should let you create a partition so you can use the drive.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I found the other threads on this and followed your instructions on your website. It now shows up just fine. Now I'm going to acronis to setup as a back up. Thank you for that article, you the man.

I'm not sure what the best way to back up is. It is a true USB, no sata or power connections, so I can't use it for a clone to boot from apparently. Continuous backup sounds like what I'm looking for.

You mention making a bootable flash drive using Media Builder. I will try using the flash drive. Words of wisdom are welcome. Thanks.

It's backing up right now onto the usb drive. I think I got it.

If you're using the Nonstop Backup feature of TI, I would still recommend that you create periodic normal backup images as well. Don't rely solely on the Nonstop Backup.
