Backup methods

Thread needs solution

I was trying to make the first backup but when I pressed on Options, under the Backup method, “Incremental” was selected. I think the “Full” option should be selected instead, since there was no backup made before.

I have tried Paragon Hard Disk Manager. When making a backup, it shows backup methods.

I think your program should show all of the optional steps as a wizard.

saad, you own screen image shows a clear statement that:

The first task run creates a full backup, all subsequent task runs create incremental backups.

Steve, it does not show in the wizard.

Saad, this is from the picture you posted of the wizard... it has always listed this information in the rescue media for as long as I can remember.

Looks like you both have not used True Image.

Please take a look at the attached screenshots.

Backup method option does not show in the "main backup wizard". After you finish backup wizard and proceed for a backup, there is a "Option" button ( 504449-169809.jpg ) at the bottom of the backup wizard screen. That's where you modify the Backup method. I know a few other friends who use Acronis True Image and they also find this confusing.

I have tried some other backup programs, like Paragon Hard Disk Manager. That gives you an option in the "main backup wizard" to change backup method. By default it selects backup method "Full".

I think this should be changed in Acronis True Image. I hope one of you can send this suggestion to Acronis. I was not able to find an option where I can submit this suggestion with screenshots to Acronis.

saad, have you installed ATI 2019 in Windows or are you just running it from the Rescue Media?

All your screen images are for the Rescue Media standalone application, which we are very familiar with and have used hundreds of times over the years!

What your images show is exactly how things have always been for the rescue media and is unlikely to be changed unless a very large number of users ask for it.

If you do have ATI installed, then you can submit any feedback yourself via the Help menu (?).

If you do not have ATI installed, then go to the Acronis Customer Feedback web page and submit your feedback in that way.
