Partial Feature Install Acronis True Image

Thread needs solution

I wish to install just the part of the software that allows me to make image backups and recovery drives.

I do not want any of the virus/attack prevention as that causes significant interference with my development environment.

When I got the trial - it installed everything without question, I had to uninstall everything so I could restart working on my computer.

How does one go about doing a partial feature install with this software ?

Sorry but there is no way to do so - everything has to be installed then you would need to disable to features that you do not want to use (and remember to do the same if any new updates get installed).

This has been requested on many times by other users but never implemented by Acronis.

Thanks, disabling the feature wasn't enough to reenable my development environment in the test version.

Can I uninstall the problematic features partially even if I can't install them partially ?

There are no options for doing any selective uninstall of the ATI features.

Any of the ATI features shouldn't stop you using your development environment provided that you either disable the unwanted Acronis Services (via the services.msc control panel) or else whitelist your development applications to the Acronis Active Protection feature using the options available to 'Manage Processes'.

1. The test version required uninstall to allow me to continue work.

2. Adding my development environment to the exclude list wasn't enough, it was causing problems with each executable I compiled.

3. I've found a less intrusive alternative that does what I want ... seems silly that I can't use Acronis to do the most basic function because of idiotic mandatory bloatware.

I can only suggest submitting Feedback directly to Acronis for this scenario.

AAP can be disabled / turned off and should not interfere once that is so.

Good that you have found an alternative solution that does work for you.
