clone disk fails then system won't reboot

Thread needs solution

Hit a problem whilst cloning a disc with ATIH2010. Win7 64bit

Tried to clone the non-boot disc to another drive on an attached USB dock. Rebooted the machine when asked to, so the process could run. The clone failed with a write error and the system rebooted and rebooted and rebooted - you get the idea.

There are various errors thrown up from c:\windows\apppatch\ac*.dll and then windows logs me off and reboots. I guess the dll's are Acronis files which should have been removed after the clone failed so that the pc could reboot into win7.

Having had a look through the formums I guess I should have booted off the recovery disc before the clone, but I didn't.

Any suggestions

Hopefully you have a prior full disk backup (all partitions). If yes, then perform a disk restore and restore the entire disk from your backup.
