Possible for ATI 2020 to create a new file for each incremental version without reverting to the old .tib format?

Thread needs solution

I have a service that keeps a remote copy of a true image backup. Since ATI now clumps the full and incrementals into a single file, the full file is transferred any time an incremental is created. So I am wondering whether there is a way of forcing ATI to make a separate file for each incremental.

Hello Omoeba,

I'm afraid this is not possible, the new format saves all incremental backups into a single archive. Please also note the following temporary limitations of the new format  https://kb.acronis.com/node/63425

Are you planning to add an option to change that in the future?

I suspect that it is an integral part of the Archive 3 architecture used for *.tibx.

The only solution I can see is to reinstate the ability to create new *.tib backups.

Ian

Omoeba, you could consider doing a differential rather than incremental backup as differentials create new files each time. Depending on how you use the system, it may be a reasonable solution.

Currently such changes are not planned..As Ian correctly pointed out, this archive type has different architecture
