Cloning stuck at selecting excluded files

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I am trying to clone my old HDD to an SSD that is smaller using ATI 2015.
I ready did this operation a few years back without any problem.

But this time, I get stuck when selecting the files I want to exclude (since the target disk is smaller than the source).
I select almost all the files of one partition, and after processing, it tells me there is still 1To I need to exclude, when there was only 150Go at first.
After that I can't really do anything.

Thanks in advance for helping me.

Corentin, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but not enough information here to fully understand what problem you are seeing.

What is the size of your HDD and how much used space does it have?

What is the size of your SSD?

How are you doing the Clone operation?
Is this from within Windows or are you booting from the Acronis Rescue Media?

Personally, when cloning a drive, I never start excluding files or folders so have never been in this particular situation.  Instead, if there are files that won't fit on the target drive, I would move these off the source HDD to another disk drive first, freeing up the necessary space before trying to clone the drives.

Please download the MVP Log Viewer tool (link in my signature below) and use this to review the log file for your backup operation if attempting the clone from within Windows, this should help show if any problems are being encountered.

If booting from the rescue media, you need to save the Log file to a USB stick or other location before restarting the computer.
