Constant requests for credentials when trying to setup a backup or backup replication plan

Thread needs solution

I am running 12.5 build 14330. I have several storage nodes that I am trying to replicate between.

When I setup a replication plan, I am entering my credentials for EVERY SINGLE backup that I have to replicate. oh, and then for good measure I have to enter my credentials again for the target destination. Also, when I do this, it takes an extraordinary amount of time to determine if the credentials are good or not. This makes it very time consuming if not down right impossible for me to save changes to a backup plan.

If I happen to do a batch delete of backups from a storage node, I have to enter my credentials for EVERY SINGLE backup that I am trying to delete.

Is there not some way that Acronis 12.5 could be smart enough to know that if I have entered my credentials once, that it would be smart enough to try them again ?

Hello Cory!

I've just tried making a replication plan and selected a few backups. When providing the source credentials I only had to supply them once per location and then once for the target.

Can you provide some screenshots of how you are creating a replication plan?

I can't test how credentials work for deletion right now, but in general I experienced that if you select multiple items at the same time when executing an action it requires credentials once. Like when updating agents for example. If you select more agents and click update you'll have to enter credentials only once.

i can provide screenshots of a login prompt.  i mean.. i go to plans -> backup replication -> create plan.  name the plan, specify my agent, select particular backups as the items i want to replicate.  it immediately puts this message on the plan, stating access to source denied, specify credentials.

I specify the credentials, and then keep going..

I then get a similar screen stating that access to the target is denied.  specify credentials.

and btw, I am using the same credentials for both.  The prompt then flips back to access to source denied.. and then the circle spins a bit.. and asks again.  typically it feels like i am inputting my credentials for every backup i am trying to replicate with the plan.  I know i have to put in credentials for every backup i try to delete.

I have NEVER had to only type my credentials once.

I also usually am replicating 8-10 backups in a plan.  I'd like to have been able to do more.  If I try inputting my credentials once per prompt, and then wait... i've waited over an hour for the circle to go away, and then it would prompt me again just for good measure.  eventually i get the plan to create.. but a process that should take me 5-10 mins usually ends up wasting over 60-90 mins of my time.

this is beyond frustrating.

Strange. Even with 200 backups selected I only have to supply source and target, and takes a whole of 20 seconds.

I suggest you contact Acronis Support and request technical assistance via instant chat. They can investigate issues quite fast.

Hello Cory,

welcome to Acronis forums!

As Peter stated above, login credentials are requested for each backup location (source and target) at once. Thus, if your backup plans work with the same backup locations, login credentials should not be repeatedly asked for the next backup plan. If you have logged out from Management Console or closed it, then login credentials would be asked again if you continue to work with the replication plan.

I advise that you take a video of your recurring login credentials prompt in your replication plan and share it with us or open a case with Acronis Support Team.
