Cannot install True home 2010- BSOD

Thread needs solution

When I try to install the new True Home 2010 I get a BSOD saying "Page_Fault_in_nonpaged_area". Once this happens I cannot start in Safe mode to repair anything. Luckily, I also use Rollback RX pro which gets me back to pre installed state. I did this twice. Then I tried to uninstall TI2009 even though the user manual says I don't need to. I cannot uninstall it. Some fatal error. I turned off my antivirus and tried again. Same BSOD error message. So basically, I am unable to use the new software I bought yesterday. Any help? This is a Windows machine running XP pro, 2Mb ram. 320 GB harddrive with plenty of space.

Get back to your pre-installed state. Restart in Safe Mode and see if you can now uninstal ver. 2009.

Hello all,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

I would also recommend you to check the following step-by-step instructions on how to manually uninstall Acronis True Image Home 2009 from Windows, use this KB article.

Hi.

I tried to update from Home 2009: Could not uninstall, because "configuration seems to be corrupt".

I uninstalled manually (as described in article above).

Now I am lost: Home 2009 and Home 2010 can not be installed anymore. Starting installer ends up with (freely translated German message):

«Installation aborted, before True Image Home was installed. You have to start installer again for a new attempt.»

I tried a few times, but the message does not change. Now I am lost: No backups anymore, required for Updating WXPSP3 to W7Ultimate.

I tried latest Update file, cleaned registry, aso. - no success.

I badly need backups but can not produce, because I can not install - this is a very upsetting expirience with True Image.

Badly need help!

Regards,

NoSi

Check to make sure that your temporary file folder is empty. Although you are getting a different error message than the one normally associated with the temp folder.

Try running the installer as Administrator by right clicking on the installer file.
