Incremental Backups

Thread needs solution

I've a license for Trueimage 2010 + Pluspack.

I was thinking about upgrading to Trueimage 2011 and downloaded to the test version.

To may display it's apparently not possible to create incremental backups anymore.

In Trueimage 2010 if I've created a backup of my c:\ partition and repeated the backup 1 week later an incremental backup was created. Doing the same with Trueimage 2011 creates a complete new backup file. How to resolve this problem?

Hello Thomas,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting. I will definitely help you with this issue.

Acronis True Image 2011 Home can create incremental backups, it is possible you have setup your backup to create full backups only. I would really appreciate if you can send me screenshots of your backup settings so that I can provide you with a solution.

I would also recommend to check this KB article that has suggestions for different backup schemes in Acronis True Image 2011 Home.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I have left the settings at default, which means it's the version chaining scheme. Do you still need a screenshot?

Incremental backups can be created via the custom scheme as per this illustration.

It is better to create a new task (or edit an existing task) and from the beginning task screen labelled "Configure Disk Backup Process", click on the default header "BAckup scheme/Version chain" option. Doing so will bring you to this screen where you can choose whatever options are appropriate to your needs.
