DriveCleanser and other side utils- what is the point

Thread needs solution

What is the point of bundling software that does not work?

TrueImage 2018 has DriveCleanser and it just hangs after wiping the first partition of Windows 10

If DriveCleanser is not compatible.

1) Why have a button encouraging me to launch it from Windows 10 within TrueImage?
2) If there is some incompatibility issue with the disk (e.g. too large) then surely it should state that before running the utility.
3) Where is compatibility stated?

It seem Acronis just loves including vaporware that does not work which is a waste of time. Yes the workaround could be booting from a recovery disk but I just gave up.

Another issue I remember is the mobile backup software, stupidly I ran that years ago and it turns out it didn't even back up the data on the phone- like WTF?

Have things got better with 2020? I'm using the 2018 version.

Thx

Alex, Drive Cleanser has been a part of ATI since version 11.0 and is not anything new.  The purpose has remained the same over the past 10+ years which is to enable drives to be securely erased using a variety of encryption type patterns that meet different standards.

By definition this process is very slow depending on the pattern chosen and number of passes etc.

Mobile Backup is newer but is limited to features that are possible without having root access on the mobile phone OS where it is used, thus it is not able to backup any applications etc or any part of the OS itself.

None of the above has changed with ATI 2020
