Backup Network Drive Folder to External Drive

Thread needs solution

I have previously used (tried) other backup software - my favorite is ChronoSync but I need a good Windows option. Hopefully one that rivals ChronoSync.

Need: Backup Network Drive Folder (on a network attached storage) to an external Drive. I am backing up a single Photos folder on the network drive to an external drive.

Can I do this and keep this in the native format? If needed, I want to be able to connect this external drive to any other system and be able to access files in their native format (files, naming, folders) without the TIB files.

It seems Sync is often recommended ... but, I can't install this on Network Drive. When I open Sync in True Image, the network drive/folder location isn't listed.

Perhaps, I need a different solution ... which is why I'm doing a trial on True Image!

Thanks!

JayZ, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but the Sync feature of all current ATI versions only works when there are either 2 computers involved or 1 computer and the Acronis Cloud.  There is no option to synchronise to an external drive on the same computer.

You can create a backup of the files from your network drive to the external drive but this will be in a compressed container file (akin to a zip type file) which can only be opened by having Acronis True Image installed on any system where you connect the drive.

JayZ,

You might have a look at GoodSync.  I believe it can do what you're looking for.

GoodSync

Thanks for the info, Steve! I'll look at True Image for my computer backup and look at another solution for my network drive to external usb drive.

Great! Appreciate the recommendation - I haven't looked at GoodSync. I'll check it out now.
Thank you!!
