problem when I restore for Win7 64bits image !
Hi,
I've the last version "Acronis True Image Home 2011", I use it in WinXp Pro SP3, I restore & backup many images disc without any problem, when I backup a Win7 64 bits image it works perfectly, but my problem is when I try to restore then I've many errors at the end of restoration and when I reboot to test my new restoration, my pc reboot when the win7 logo appers, and I've the same thing with all different copy of Win7 64bits.
Can you tell me where is the problem and what can I solve it?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english ,-)

Hi,
I always save my images system on a different hard disc, I've no partition but only physical disc, I try to restore by windows interface with the same problem, and when I boot and press F11 to excecute Acronis to restore, I get the same result.
When you talk about "recovery media", you mean restore the backup using the windows interface, no ??

I meant doing a restore using a bootable CD, DVD or USB. You have to create one to make sure you can recover your computer in case of a disaster that would ruin your current disk.
Do you have such a bootable recovery media?

Oh I understant, I haven't a such bootable media, I'm going to create one et test it, then I will reply in this forum, thanks for your indication ;-)

After you created it, use it to boot your computer on, navigate to the TIB file you are trying to use and validate it first.
If it validates, try a restore at that point. Be careful when you choose your destination as the recovery media might show drive letters different from your Windows environment. They should have the same volume names though. Make sure you select the right destination.
I am assuming here that:
- the image that you have is of your *ENTIRE* system disk (all partitions of your disk),
- the backup is *NOT* a non-stop backup or a file backup
- you do *NOT* have a recovery partition like on DELL or HP systems
- you have only *ONE* OS installed on your system.
If any of the above is not true, no issue, just let me know.
If you have errors during the restore, can you let me know which ones?

OK, I take notes of all this, I'll test it tomorrow, If I get errors, I'll show you which one, and thanks for your help ;-) bye
