Specific backups not showing in Backup list

Thread solved

Hi All,

I am working with the latest version ATI 2020 b25510 on a Windows 10 Pro machine. I have used previous versions.

My situation is that I cannot get specific backups to show in the Backup list. When I try to add a backup, it only shows the source drive. However, the source drive has three backups created with current version of ATI (noted above).

I have tried to recover a backup but the destination drive remains empty afterwards. I tried by disk, partition and file, but it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Michael

Michael, sorry but I am not sure that I understand what the issue is here for this topic?

What backups do you want to show in the list of Backup Tasks in the ATI GUI?
Are these backups associated with any Backup Task already shown in the list?
Are they for the same computer or a different one?
How are you trying to add them to the list?

Hi Steve,

I was trying to add some old backups from an external hard drive.  It seems if the backup is corrupted, then it will not show up in the Backups list even after manually adding it.  At least it seems that way.

Kind regards,

Michael

Michael, how are you deciding that any backups are corrupted from your external HDD?

If you have Validated these backup files using the option in Explorer, then it is likely that this has already added an entry for the file in the lower Other section of the task list in the main ATI GUI.

Hi Steve,

There was one backup that gave me an error message stating that the backup was either corrupt or locked.  Since I don't lock my backups (or password protect), I figured it must have been corrupted.

Further, since I could not add it to the Backups list, I was unable to validate it (within ATI).

Kind regards,

Michael

Michael, if you right-click on the backup file in Explorer, look for the Acronis True Image option, then take the Validate option from there and see if that goes ahead or not?

OK.  Thanks, Steve.  I will try that.

Kind regards,

Michael
