Delete versions older than nn days doesn't work.
The subject line says it all. I have this setting set for 7 days and versions older than this are still there after an update. I'm a licensed user of 3 copies of Acronis which is fully updated - this problem occurs on all 3 of my PC's.
Thanks, Bill

I don't know what a .tibx backup is, I do only full backups as shown in the attachment. I recently upgraded from 2018 to 2020 and this is when I believe the problem began.
I just manually deleted 6 older backups and noticed that the "are you sure?" that was usually sent by ATI2018 was not there. This is the message that also said "ok, you've got 1 hour to do this", which I also didn't see.
Just for the heck of it, I set up a test recovery, but was told that it could find a number of backup files. I ignored these messages 1 at a time until it was current with the 10 backup files I have saved. Maybe this is part of the problem, although I don't know why this error originally occurred.

Bill, your image shows you've selected to keep no more than 10 versions, not the 7 day rule. Did you just change that?
Because of what you did, I assume you are creating .tib files, not .tibx. ATI 2020 will only create .tibx files for new disk/partition backups. This is a different format and one that should not be deleted outside of True Image.
In saying you deleted the 8 older backups manually, does that mean through True Image cleanup or did you mean directly from Wndows Explorer.
What you describe about the recovery test sounds normal for .tib file backups. The True Image database knows about all the files and so if you delete any outside of the application, it will give you a message for each file it cannot find. Once you ignore them, the database is updated.

I did change from 7 days to 10 versions.
Yes - .tib files.
I deleted the older backups with Windows Explorer, ATI2020 gave me no warning message.
The database has been updated as I could see from the Recovery screen. As a test I attempted to delete the very oldest version from Explorer. The file deleted without Acronis giving me a warning. FWIW, this is very different from what would happen back when I ran ATI2018.
My guess it that there is a bug in the software which ATI technical support will have to fix in its next 2020 update. If you agree, I'll forward a link to this thread to them.
Thanks, Bill

Bill, do you have Active Protection on or off? It sound like it may be off, which is why there is no warning.
Now that you seem to have the database in sync, let's see what happens going forward. It may be all OK.
As an aside, you may want to look at the ti_demon log files for the period around when the update happened and when it should have deleted older backups.
