ARM Processor Imaging with Acronis
Greetings, Does Snap Deploy or any other Acronis backup solutions support hardware with ARM processors, such as the Microsoft Surface Pro X? We've learned that PXE booting isn't supported and I'm just curious if there's another workaround. I haven't yet tried USB-based imaging with Snap Deploy.

Thank you for the reply!
Unfortunately, the Surface Pro X seems to be a tricky kid. I can't get them to boot from any external media... at all.
Can you say if your team has successfully imaged (or even booted) to Acronis media in the labs?

I haven't played with an X (none available to me), but all the other versions of Surface have been usable with True Image and Snap Deploy after some fiddling around. Worse case, with the standalone deployment using USB boot from a winpe/WinRE version and the right drivers will usually do the trick.
However, it doesn't seem like the X may support this as it isn't listed on the USB boot support page from Microsoft.

And the other forums I'm looking at also seem to suggest others can't get other bootable media to work either
It would be nice if Acronis could verify for sure. I suspect not based on the minimum processor specs listed in True Image (... Can't find the same info for Snap Deploy)

Hello CBC-KC.
Can you say if your team has successfully imaged (or even booted) to Acronis media in the labs?
I have not found any confirmation that Acronis Snap Deploy 5.0 has been tested on Microsoft Surface Pro X but on Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and 4 everything is fine.

Thank you for the responses.
We've had decent results with Snap Deploy 5 and our fleet of Surface, Surface Pro (generations 3 through 5), and Surface Laptop (2 and 3) units. But, the X is going to be a struggle.
Sadly, I'm not able to boot to any external USB media at all reinforcing the links Bobbo_3C0X1 posted.

Hello CBC-KC,
clarified with the product manager, I'm afraid none of Acronis products currently supports ARM processors - I've added your comment as a vote for the support implementation (internal ID for ref ASD-4124 Acronis Snap Deploy on ARM CPU)

I have used Acronis Snap 5 to create an image of the Microsoft Surface Go with the ARM64 processor. I used the 32bit intel version with USB boot (32 bit Linux as I recall). I had to go into the UEFI BIOS and disable secure boot and might have had to make another change (been too long to recall specifically) maybe an option to allow USB boot or boot order. I also successfully restored the image to another MS Go.

Thanks, Jim. We'll give that a try when time permits.

Hi Ron,
To be honest, I just haven't had the opportunity to try yet, unfortunately.
