Can I backup an ftp-server content to my PC with Acronis True Image?

Thread needs solution

I can use an ftp-server as destination for the backups of my PC. Is ist possible also the other way round? In the menu I could not find anything offering an ftp-server as source. I could give the FTP-server a drive letter on my PC but am reluctant to to so.

Not as far as I am aware without mapping a drive letter to your FTP server in some way to make it available as a 'local' source for the backup.

Is your goal to use FTP in the backup process, or is it to backup the FTP server's storage by any means?  As Steve said, there is no (obvious) way to get data from a remote FTP server via FTP.

You said you could map the FTP server's drive but are reluctant to.  That implies that the FTP server's platform supports SMB.  Yes?  ATI does not require a mapped drive; you can give ATI the remote server's UNC path for a 'File and Folders" backup.

However, depending on your reason for not wanting to give the server a drive letter, having ATI access the server's data via SMB (without mapping) might be just as distasteful.
