Parminder,

Did your friend use their copy of Acronis or was it your copy?

I don't think this is caused by Acronis products.

What version and build of True Image was used?

Your post is contradictory - are you saying that you've gone a whole year with a network adapter problem and only decided to sort it out now, or was it only recently that you restored your laptop and the network adapter has disappeared from Device Manager?

What model Compaq and what OS are you using?

What type of 'backup' did your friend make?

Is this exactly the same laptop that the image was made from?

You might get more response if you edit your post and transfer it to the True Image Home forum.

Hello Parminder and Colin!

Thank you for your comments!

Colin, thank you for your help!

I just wanted to ask: Parminder, have you tried to install the NIC drivers after the recovery? They can be found on the vendor's website.

Please also note that according to the Acronis License Policy you will need one license for one computer your are going to backup or restore.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
