Received ATIH 2009 instead of 2010
Since ATIH 2010 is now available, and since I purchased ATIH today (September 27/09), does anyone know why was I not allowed to download version 2010 instead 2009?
Am I to understand that to get the latest version of ATIH, I now have to purchase it even though I bought the application today -- after version 2010 was released?
The ATIH 2009 I installed on my system was registered. The Upgrade tab in Registered Products shows ATIH 2010 Standard Upgrade is available for purchase or free upgrade, which leads me to a page from which to purchase ATIH 2010.
I just bought the application a few hours ago. I was sent to a to a download-link via the email with the serial number. The link lead to ATIH v2009. Why should I pay again for the upgraded version that was released before I was sold the old version? Am I missing something here?

Here is some information I found in another thread on the forum.
Dmitry wrote:Hello all,
Thank you for using Acronis ProductsWith regards to your question, our upgrade policy is to provide free upgrade to customers who purchased the software within 30 days prior to the release of the new version of the product, and also those who have purchased software maintenance or site license. We realize that the 30 day cut-off might seem arbitrary, but it keeps with the procedures of other established software companies. If we had a 90 day cut-off, someone who had purchased the product 91 days before would be unhappy anyway. At some point we have to draw a line and move on to working on the next version.
Hope this helps.

If you buy the product through some special discount pricing or some of the grayer sources, there might not be any upgrade offered for free.

I purchased the Acronis TIH 2009 directly from Acronis' online store on September 27, 2009, and received, within minutes, an email invoice/receipt from Cleverbridge, Inc. in Chicago, with reference no., invoice date and no. I am keeping this document and its emails dated September 27, 2009 for the records.
With regard to Dimitry's comment -- I saw Acronis' "policy" of providing "free upgrade to customers who purchased the software within 30 days prior to the release of the new version of the product." The point is -- I purchased the Acronis TIH 2009 directly from Acronis after Acronis TIH 2010 was released, and was sent to a download-page from which to download Acronis TIH 2009. After I registered the product online -- within hours of its installation -- I noticed Acronis TIH 2009 was now available, BUT was told I had to purchased it -- again even though I had just bought Acronis TIH 2009 directly from them, downloaded it, and installed it after the 2010 version was available.
I have NEVER experienced this type of behaviour before -- normally if one is sold a earlier version of an application, one is given a grace-period to upgrade to a new version withing a stated period of time. This is NOT the case. Why did Acronis sell me the Acronis TIH 2009, an old-version product, when their new version was already available online for purchase?
It does NOT seem good business practice to be sold an old version of a piece of software, when the new version was already on the market, and when seeking to upgrade immediately after purchase to the latest version (within hours -- NOT days, NOT months, NOT years), I am told I now have to purchase the new version for another $50.00. Is this ethical business practice?

Very often with Acronis you will find it is a case of "the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing". Contact one of the Acronis Support people here on the forum by private message - give your registration details - and it will be sorted out. Or see if the Chat feature on the website is working - it often isn't - and try that route.

Thanks. I did via their Chat Live. The matter is now settled to my satisfaction as I was given a new link, and serial no. for the 2010 version.
