Acronis Cloud Cleanup options don't save

Thread needs solution

I've just updated to True Image 2020 build 25700.  This may or may not be relevant.  I have only just noticed in the cloud backup options, advanced, acronis cloud cleanup.

my existing online backups are set to store no more than 1 version, don't delete older.

I am trying to change this to store 3 versions, delete older than 6 months.  When I press OK, and then go back into options, it seems to be set, but if I click on another online backup and do the same, when i go back into the first to check, it has reverted to original setting not store more than one.

Is this something like data centre that can only be changed when the backup is first created ?  In which case does this mean I have to delete the backup and create a new one to utilise this feature ?

Cheers
Alan

Alan, this is working Ok for me on the latest ATI 2020 #25700 build and changes are being kept after changing the values then clicking on OK which takes me back to the main Backup panel display.  Opening the settings again shows the changed values even after repeating this for another of my cloud backup tasks, both tasks kept the changed settings.

If this issue is persisting for you, then you may need to try some of the steps shown in KB 60915: Acronis True Image: repairing program settings - which will resolve any problems within the application that could cause this unwanted behaviour.

Thanks Steve.  I have tried that and it's still the same.

I have since created a new cloud backup to test and that does work so I suspect it is because the original backups were created before this feature was available. The settings are probably stored in the cloud with the backup.

I will contact support and see what they have to say.

Cheers
Alan

Alan, for Cloud backups, you can try deleting (or moving / renaming) the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\OnlineBackup folder and then let this be recreated when you reopen the main ATI GUI for your cloud tasks.

Note: you may need to sign in again on the Account page in the GUI, and will need to temporarily turn off Acronis Active Protection to do the above.

The other place where these settings are stored are in the associated Script .tib.tis files found in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder.  These are XML data files and protected by AAP but can be opened in Notepad.

The pertinent line in the XML is:

</files><retention keep_versions="20" delete_older_than="64800000"/></online_backup></operations>

The task name is shown near the top of the XML data: <display>Docs</display> (my Docs task).

You should look at your new test task values to see what the age value should be if being changed!
