Microsoft Book - Booting from Rescue.

Thread solved

I've got a Microsoft Book 2 - And it boots from the rescue media just fine.  But there's no mouse or keyboard control.  I've been scouring the internet for a solution and can't find a darn thing....

I assume you are using Linux recovery media which is unlikely to support proprietary hardware.

Had a quick look and cannot find anything on the Microsoft Book 2; is in fact a Microsoft Surface Book 2?

Please confirm the Version and Build of ATI you are using (confirming you are using ATI 2016), and the version and build of Windows, for example Windows 10 Home Build 1909.

A Windows PE recovery media may be more successful, particularly if you use the MVP Tool - CUSTOM ATI WINPE BUILDER. It only supports the final build of ATI 2016.

Hope this is of assistance.

Thanks for the reply.

it's, indeed a Surface Book 2.  and it's Windows 10 Pro build 1903.

I'll try the suggestion and use MVP Tool - CUSTOM ATI WINPE Builder..

ill follow up if I got it to work.

Andrew, thanks for the clarification. I have a vague recollection that there are unique features of some Microsoft PCs that can make you use of recovery software challenging. Did a quick search of the ATI forum and could not find any instance of issues - they are there I just could not find them!

Please keep use updated on your progress.
