NOT impressed

Thread needs solution

A few days ago, I received notification that there was a new build (25700) available, so I installed it.  I then ran a backup, and couldn't believe how slow it ran.  I reset my system, thinking something might have held things up, and ran another backup.  Same thing... pathetic performance.  Thinking something got corrupted somewhere along the way, I completely uninstalled ATI from my system, and installed my original build 22510.  I ran a backup with that build, and saw the speed come back to what I was familiar with.

I ran two other tests with that build, and saw consistent times.  I then reinstalled build 25700, ran another backup, and saw the same lousy performance.  I've attached a screenshot showing the timings.  The bottom three are with build 22510, and the top with 25700.

I'm going back to 22510.

Tom, I have not seen any similar issues myself or reported in the forums since the latest #25700 build was released.

Have you tried doing a further backup with 25700 for the same source data / task to see if the results are consistent?  If they are, then I can only recommend that you raise this via a Support ticket direct with Acronis who will then guide you to collect diagnostic information to try to identify what is causing this difference in performance?

Steve,  I did what you suggested, prior to uninstalling and reinstalling 22510.  I saw the same results on subsequent tries with 25700.

I thought I'd have to open a support ticket, but wanted to see if anyone here had experienced the same thing.

Thanks!

Tom, could you send a feedback from Acronis True Image with system report attached?

I have opened a support ticket with Acronis - 04371136.  According to the support rep, they are presently looking at all the information that I provided them with.

A couple days ago, I received an updated copy of Build 25700 from Acronis, which I applied and ran.  It cut two hours off of my backup time, which was very acceptable.  That same day, Acronis tech support called me, and asked if I would continue testing the backup to make sure it would continue working in that manner.

Well, yesterday, I ran my second backup, and it was not good.  Instead of 1 hrs 40 min, it was 4 hrs 17 min.  So, more reports were sent, and we'll wait to see what happens from here.

I am using Build 22510 and seeing backup times even worse than what you are seeing

I have a support ticket open since 4/1 and have collected and uploaded 4.02GB of reports, tests, observations, etc -- but have not seen any progress toward a resolution ...

As far as i know, my case has yet to be escalated to the Expert Team

It's painful, I know.  I'm surprised I'm seeing the good results that I am with 22510, and your results are as bad as they are, Martin.  I sure hope we both get a resolution soon.  It's getting rather ridiculous.

As of June 30th, 2020, no improvement. I have two machines on 22510 and one on 25700. The ones on 22510 work fine but the one on 25700 is excruciatingly slow. Backup time is more than twice what it was. Unfortunately, the machine that has 25700 has the most data on it by quite a bit.

Here's hoping that something is done soon.......
