Backup to multiple destinations?
Hi,
Can I send a backup to multiple destinations? E.g. to another drive and to the Aconis cloud?
As I see it I could create a second backup that backs up the backup from the HDD to the cloud, but it seems a bit clunky. And would having a backup of a backup work?
Or I guess I could create 2 backups pointing to the same data. One that goes to HDD and the other to the cloud.
Any advice?
Regards,
Steve

Sounds good. Thanks for the advice.
By the way, I did notice an option in the 'advanced' settings called 'Backup reserve copy', although this doesn't have a cloud option, I assume this is handy is you want to have a back up on a local HDD and a copy on a NAS?

Steve, the Backup reserve copy can be useful for making a second copy of the source data on another backup drive / location, but my understanding is that this is always a full backup file and that the reserve copy is a second run of the backup task, i.e. it creates the first backup for the task then runs again to create the reserve copy backup.

Steve,
Could you possibly tell me how to create a backup task to send the backup to our NAS as well as the Acronis Cloud? I do not seem to be able to find an way to create the second task.

Clyde, welcome to these public User Forums.
You will need to create a second backup task for your scenario so that you have one task that goes to the Acronis Cloud, and another task with the same source etc, that goes to your NAS and runs separately. This cannot be combined into a single task.
To create the second task, make a note of how your Cloud backup task is configured, then use the '+ Add backup' option to create a new task and configure it to go to the NAS using the same source selection.

Steve,
Thanks for the info but I guess I did not make myself clear. I can't find the "add backup" option or any option for that matter that will allow me to create a 2 backup task.
We did not have this problem until I "upgraded" all the computers to Windows 10.
I just read my commnt and I really didn't make myself clear at all. Long day, I guess.

Clyde, please can you confirm what version of Acronis True Image you have, so that we are both on the same page here? Also what version of Windows did you upgrade from before going to Windows 10?

Steve,
I am using Acronis Tru Image 2020 and we upgraded from Windows 7.
I found the + in the bottom left corner to add the task but now Acronis does not see my NAS. I believe that has been the problem since the upgrade because we no longer have q home group in Windows 10.

Clyde, glad you found the option to add a backup - this will either show as a single + sign or else will show + Add backup depending on the sizing of the ATI GUI panels.
For the NAS, then there are other considerations that can be at work.
What SMB standard does the NAS use? Is it SMB 1.0 which has been removed by default in Windows 10 due to inherent insecurities? If so, then you need to check to see if the NAS will support using SMB 2 or 3.
