Restore to new hard drive - unable to expand new hard drive properly

Thread needs solution

I upgraded a Crucial MX500 SSD to Crucial BX500 or from 1 tb to 2 tb. As the screen shots shows the partition of the old and new hard drives. (Acronis build 25700) When I expand the hard drive, the new partition is created properly as Windows under computer management properly but windows explorer see the old partition. Any ideas on how to correct this? thanks

I have restored the old hard drive and I am unsure on how to proceed. Any ideas? thanks

David, download a copy of the free MiniTool Partition Wizard software, install this then use it to move your 846MB Recovery partition to the end of the new larger drive, then resize the C: partition to use all of the available unallocated space.

I rebuilt the drive. Then I  was able to move a partition of 846 mg and then moved the unallocated drive next to the c  drive. When the unallocated space was next to the c drive, I was able to expand c drive. My problem is why Acronis added that 846 mg. partition.

Thanks for the idea.

Acronis didn't add the 846 MB partition. Microsoft did. The original 450 MB Recovery partition was not large enough when your Windows 10 system was upgraded by Microsoft. They abandoned the 450 MB partition and created a new Recovery Partition at the end of the drive. This happens to everybody during Windows upgrades.
