True Image Home 10 does not add external disk WD My Book 4TB (GPT related problem)

Thread needs solution

my greetings !

I have a problem.
True Image Home 10 Russian build 6053
I have 3 external USB devices normally operated by Windows Vista Home 32
(WD My Book 2TB [raid stripe 1+1], WD 1TB, WD My book 4TB [raid stripe 2+2]
TI works only with two first of them.
That is, in BackUp dialog the drive WD 4TB is absent.
If I choose an Add Disk dialog - I can see the disk there, but if I click next - it shows
an awesome message with something like "disk contains dynamic drives..., etc"
also it shows wrong space of the usb-hdd (2TB instead of 4TB)

please assist

wow
i scanned some topics here and found GPT problem related stuff
Honestly, I don't yet understand what is a GPT and how an NTFS drive can be GPT at the same time.
I feel that somehow problem is in showing TI 10 that my WD 4TB is GPT
So I think, that there may be two solutions
- to change the drive from GPT to MBR - is it possible without data loss?
- to install TI 11 as it is showing that since that version it supports GPT drives - is that true ?

Please assist on the matter

/good luck

NTFS is a file system of a partition. GPT is the partitioning scheme that allows more than 2.2 Tb disks. 2011 alone (without plus pack) does not support GPT disks. 2010 with Plus Pack does. (http://kb.acronis.com/content/5370)

it's amazing that only today I found out the existence of GPT
and what I could not understand how two similar boxes from Western Digital (My Book) with different size
can be differently operated by True Image ?
Now spent a few time in wikipedia and it says that MBR can address space up to 2.2 TB
If that's true this could be an explanation to my case - WD 2TB could be MBR while WD 4TB GPT only
So my first option seems to be impossible, I feel that I won't be able to change it to MBR
Are there any other options letting TI 10 operate my WD 4TB ? and will upgrade to TI 11 solve my problem?

would appreciate any assistance
sorry for being dummy :)

many thanks for a hint !
followed your link and seems like I got another question
I have a Russian TI 10, on Russian Acronis website I found add-ons section and indeed found a plus pack but only an English version 7154
The latest Russian release of TI 10 shown on the site is build 7046
Will they work together?
I guess, they won't and I need somehow to change to TI 10 English ?

my apologies for too many dummy questions

jeez
how interesting, seems like the only way out for me
will be buying TI 11 russian with plus pack which is available in russian,
because there is no plus pack offered for russian version
any other opinions?
sorry for speaking mostly with myself :)

English PP build is listed with 0,0 Mb download size so I'd consider it a glitch - there must be a Russian 7046 PP. Build number of TI and PP must match.

Softkey sells 2010 PP ( URHPL1RUS21 ). Apparenty it's in Russian.

my friend, thanks a lot for your time, I will give it a try
will report here later once I buy the PP as per above link offered by you

victory

though it does not exist on Acronis website, I followed the link given by respected DEV-ANON
and bought a license for Russian TI 10 PP, when I received a license, I also received a direct link to download the installation file.
It perfectly fit the latest russian build of TI 10 that is 7046
After installation TI 10 indeed sees my GPT volume of WD 4TB
I did not try to back it up as it is 3 am local time and I'm really tired :)
Anyway, this is it.

I would like to thank respected DEV-ANON for taking part in my problem
on the go, I appreciate it highly and I say THANK YOU from my heart.
Indeed, nowadays data means a lot for us with all the consequences

good luck in finding solutions to everyone here.

peace and lights out
