first backup remains at "queued"

Thread solved

Just purchased and downloaded True Image 2020 today.  Installed it and went through the initial setup/config wizard.  Then I created a backup schedule for every 4th Saturday of the month.  Created bootable media (I think this makes the external backup SSD bootable?).

But now, the first initial backup remains on "queued".  I see animated dots from the laptop to the external SSD, but after more than 1 hour, it's still not even at 1% (I suppose I should see backup activity percentage?).  When I look on the disk, it's indeed empty.  Weird, because even when backup is not actually running right now, shouldn"t I have to see the files used to boot from the SSD?  When I right-click the backup object in TI console, I can only see/select "Stop", so it appears to be running. When I open the Recovery tab, I see the message "an operation is in progress". When I check the CPU usage, it's only 1% and 99% idle, so not a lot going on I think.  Laptop is plugged in and battery is on 100%.

I don't understand what is going on, or if I'm supposed to do something?  Or is TI following the schedule and waiting until tomorrow (as configured in the scheduler)?  If so, how can i do an initial "Run Now" without changing the schedule?

Thanks.
Kris

Kris, if your backup is showing in Queued status then ATI believes that another task is already running, hence this task is queued to wait on that other task finishing.

Have you checked that ATI is not waiting on an unanswered security permission prompt (UAC) for the Survival Kit creation process?

Otherwise, restarting the laptop or perhaps even just logging out and back in again might resolve the wait issue.

Thanks for the feedback, however, even after rebooting and restarting TI, I still get the queued message, operation is in progress, exactly the same situation.  I have no idea how to troubleshoot this.

Kris, that sounds very strange, especially if you only have one backup task configured.

Please download the Acronis Scheduler Manager tool (link in my signature) then run this as Administrator (no install needed).

When you see the Schedmgr.exe black window, type: task zap

This will remove all scheduled tasks from the computer, so you will need to reschedule your 4th Saturday monthly task again later.

Restart the computer again and see if your new backup can now be run manually without seeing any queued status?
