True Image Home 2010 and Windows7 - incredible slow !

Thread needs solution

Hy there everyone...

After using XP and True Image for a long time without any issues I have recently switched to Windows7 and True Image Home 2010.
Also it "works" I have a big issue. Everytime I try to edit the settings of a backup or create a new one True Image freezes for about 1-2 minutes befor opening the next dialog.
And even when it opens - it's sometimes still not responding to my input.

Any Ideas ?

Best regards
D. Reimann

Maybe the problem is related to the paralel installation of windows7 and xp since I now had to notice that (maybe the latest build) of True Image 2009 on the xp installation (same pc) is showing the same behavior !

I'm not able to use acronis true image right now... neither 2009 on XP nor 2010 on Windows7.

I can't believe that I'll have to open a payed incident now...
Acronis you are going to be replaced pretty soon...

i want to set a back up but I keep getting a message --NOT RESPONDING --I am also using 2011 Home with windows 7 -64 bit . Can someone help please and RESPOND ?

Hello Peter,

Thank you for finding time to leave a comment and share your concerns with us. I understand your frustration, and  will do my best to help you.

The issue of product being slow maybe related to some low-level drivers conflict. Still without the diagnostic information we cannot identify the exact cause of the problem, so the situation requires investigation. Please gather the following information:

1. Procmon
2. Acronis Info from the problem machine (http://kb.acronis.com/content/2707)
3. Windows Event Logs
(Start -> Run -> eventvwr.msc)

After that please submit a support case, and let us know its number.

I'm sorry for you had to wait for an answer. Unfortunately Forum is not a support chanel, it's a community. You can see it stated in the Forum Terms of Use. We advise to contact support directly in case of emergency - this may speed up the process of investigation greatly.

Thank you!

Problems still with windows 7 -64 bit and Acronis --it just does not respond when i try to use Configering Back Up Process --have tried everything suggested --decided to ring help line --good service --they also tried to fix thing -again no luck but they did put in a good effort ,then downloaded a few files and said they would get back to me . Will wait and see what they come up with . Could not ask for more help so far .

Same problem and has been for months. Cannot get it working with windows 7 64 bit. I give up! Looking for new product and I recommend anyone to do the same who has windows 7 64 bit as Acronis support is dismal!

Sorry you guys are having problems. I am running Home 2010 and Windows 7 64 bit with no problems. I am not seeing any 'non responsive' issues, so it must be a conflict on your machines.

After a lot of effort at my end and with the help of Acronis I believe that one of the things that may cause the problem is that I have a network . Have any of the others who have a problem also got a computer network ????
Acronis are now looking at this problem . I wait to see what they come up with to solve my problem .

Peter

Yes I run my machine on a network. At home I use a wireless network and at work both a wireless network and LAN. Very scary if this software does not work in a network environment!

Peter

Yes, Win7-64 12GB RAM, running in a network environment. Build 5519 worked ok, build 6597 is too unresponsive to be useable.

I have had sopme success with Acronis with that problem --having now found out what causes the problem they are sending the information to a higher authority . I would strongly recommend that those with networks and w 7 -64 bit and True Image 2011 immediately contact the help desk and also report the problem

Dirk
Have you got a network ? --that is what has caused my problem .
If so I would suggest you report it to Acronis help desk --that have been helpful and it is up to the developers to fix it now

I had extreem slow backup with ATI Home 2011.
It was use on one Windows 7 workstation and a Windows 2008 SBS.
All HP including switches. There were only Windows 7 OS.
The backup took 3 - 12 hours, after adjustment that became 28-30 min. for 35GB.
It seems that a configuration of the SMB was necessary (to fast meant retries and slowdown).
If anyone still has this problem I will collect my information and put it here.

@Alf Sanders

I, and probably many others, would be interested in the solution to your problem. This thread is actually about a problem with the GUI causing freeze-up issues, not with the backup operations themselves or the speed of them.

Could you please start a new thread with your information in it so what you have to say doesn't get lost in this other issue?

You might be having a similar problem as mine.
Open the Task Manager, Processes tab, then open TI..... and do nothing.
watch the memory usage of TI .... my version consumes all available memory and the
CPU is at 100%

I am new to this forum -and a raw beginner and an old man in my 70s--yesterday I received 18 emails and spent most of the day trying to respond to them as I cannot follow who are the people that the emails are asking to help them ( This morning so far I have now received 7 emails))-=then I found the comments came from two different threads --so I tried to reply to all . This is a most stange blog --on the blogs that I the responder uses the question as the opening part of the answer --
Anyway --if you are asking me for an answer to a problem that I have found --this answer is to be tried is you have a network .
Here is what I have posted

Charles
What you have is similar to me --with 2011 there is a major problem.
Try this WITH 2011
Before you open Acronis to make any changes --SWITCH ON YOUR NETWORK OF COMPUTERS
THEN OPEN ACRONIS --IT SHOULD NOW WORK
but , you have to do this every time you want to make changes to Acronis .
Once you have set Acronis to Back up it operates well (but you dont need the network on again to run Acronis ) but you need all the network on again if you make changes ..
I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU REPORT THIS PROBLEM TO ACRONIS BY PHONE AND VIA AN EMAIL .
i HOPE THIS WORK AROUND WORKS FOR YOU --PLEASE LET US ALL KNOW

Hi All
WE ALL NEED TO TELL ACRONIS AND ALSO EMAIL THEM THAT WE HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM --NO-ONE FROM ACRONIS READS OUR COMPLAINTS HERE -IF THEY DID THET WOULD HELP .WE NEED TO HELP OURSELVES -ACRONIS HAD A GREAT PRODUCT BUT THE NEW PRODUCT IS NOT WORKING -ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A NETWORK

THIS IS A GREAT FORUM TO LET OFF STEAM AND SEE WHAT OTHERS DO AND PERHAPS HELP EACH OTHER BUT DEVELOPERS NEED TO BE TOLD
AS IT HAS BEEN POINTED OUT --BACK UPS NEED TO BE DONE AND IF THE PRODUCT WE USE FAILS SO DOES ALL OUR DATE .
All I can add is try my suggestion for the work around solution (see previous posting) and TELL ACRONIS BY A PHONE CALL AND AN EMAIL
.

@Peter Ruddock
I'm sorry for the confusion! I was actually replying to the post by Alf Sanders. (I fixed my post to make it more clear.)

Kudos to you for working so hard to post about this issue and to help others out, especially seeing as it's not the easiest thing for you. Heck, I've been posting in forums since before the Web was ever around... I used to connect to BBS computers through dialup connections!
