ATHI 2011 (6597) Crashes When editing backup settings
Yesterday I set up 2 backups... One is a partition backup, one is a file backup. Both run OK. However, today I wanted to change some settings in the file backup configuration. When Clicking "Operations" and then selecting "Edit Backup Settings" from the main menu, the program crashes and Windows 7 pops up the application has stopped working pop-up window.
The WIn7 event log contains:
Faulting application name: TrueImage.exe, version: 14.0.0.6597, time stamp: 0x4cfc4829
Faulting module name: ti_managers.dll, version: 14.0.0.6597, time stamp: 0x4cfc424c
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x004eedfa
Faulting process id: 0x1248
Faulting application start time: 0x01cb994c369c619e
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImage.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Common\ti_managers.dll
This crash only occurs on one of the backups and is consistent. I can edit backup settings on the other with no problem. I suppose I'll need to delete the problem backup entirely and try to recreate it.
I think ATHI 2011 has a long way to go to before it is really stable. Too many changes from the 2010 version and not enough testing, IMHO.

Just to update.. I finally went into ATIH and deleted the backup configuration that was causing problems and created a new one from scratch. After running the backup successfully, I went in and can now edit its settings without the app crashing. I don't know what to make of it but for now things seem to be working.

Hello James,
just to make sure: you went to 'my backups, opened 'operations' and then clicked 'delete back up'; but could you then open the 'Edit Nonstop Backup settings'?

No I'll clarify.... One of the 2 different backups I had configured could not have its backup settings modified. Crashed ATIH whenever I picked "operations" then "Edit backup settings". After deleting the backup entirely from the system and recreating a new backup with all new settings, I could then edit the settings. I was not using "Nonstop Backup" at all.

your 'trick' worked for me as well; but then for the Nonstop Backup; I could already modify the settings of the other backup. It is still strange that this happened/(will happen again?). The program, as you said, must be rather unstable!

Glad it worked for you. Hopefully the Acronis folks are monitoring these threads and trying to reproduce / fix issues they confirm. I'm not planning to pay for "paid support"... I think I'd go broke calling.

I have the same problem...
I have 2 backup schedules... one is a weekly disk backup and that one works fine and I can edit settings no problem
The 2nd one is the nonstop backup... if I go to 'my backups', open 'Operations' and then click 'Edit Nonstop Backup settings' I get the dialog box that says "Acronis True Image Home 2011 has stopped working..." (see attached snippy)
I have tried pausing/stoping the backup using the Play/Pause buttons before editing the settings and although the backup stops/pauses just fine it again crashes as soon as I click the Edit option link.
I have not tried to delete and recreate the nonstop backup but may try that soon.
BTW the nonstop backup works just fine I was just going to change the location of the backup file when I came accross the problem

I've gotten the CRASH screen in other random places in ATIH 2011 as well. I haven't had them happen often enough to track any pattern. But the GUI is unstable at times. I haven't had any issues with the background scheduler or tasks failing though. I'm thankful for that.

studioCJF,
Delete the NSB from ATI, delete manually any hidden folder that is called "Time Explorer Storage" in the older NSB location and in the new one.
Restart NSB.

Thank I'll give that a try I'm sure that will fix the issue
