E00070021: Unable to create volume snapshot

Thread needs solution

I've been using TI Home 11 Build 8,101 for well over a year with no issues, but am suddenly unable to do backup, getting the above message when it tries to image the second partition.

I've researched the Knowledge Base but did not find any suggestions or solutions. I've done a complete removal and install but it didn't make a difference.

I have no problem upgrading to TI 2011 if it would solve the problem, however, I suspect it won't because something in my system is running or otherwise preventing the image, regardless of the version. Can anyone make a suggestion how to get this working again?

I've attached a screenshot and log of the backup failure. Thank you very much for any suggestions so I can get back to my real job!

Gerard,

The first thing to do is to run a check disk
Launch a command prompt with administrator rights, type chkdsk [Drive Letter]: -r for XP, [Drive Letter]: /r on Win 7.

If this doesn't solve the problem, try to update the snapapi drivers

Did you change anything to your drive, or setup before the problem occured?

Does the problem still exist if you restore back to when it worked okay? It sounds like this just happened. Perphaps an update or other system change triggered it.

Before you try to update the snapapi drivers, make sure they are okay for your version of TI. Some of the newer versions of the drivers may not work with TI 2011.
