task when device is attached and only if current device is attached
Hi,
I have a task with the option "If missed, run the task when device is attached". When I startup my computer i receive an error "File I/O error" while my usb harddisk is connected. I also want to check the second option run task only if the current device is attached. But I can't . When I click on Ok an reopen the task the check is gone.
Regards,

Hello
I have a very similar problem!
In my case there is no error but the checked-state of the checkbox isn't remembered too.
I use True Image Home 2010 Build 7154
The other options (I don't know the correct text in English) "Tak only if computer is idle", "When failed, execute task on startup" and "When failed, execute task when device is connected" are remembered correctly.
BTW:
There are two checkboxes for "When failed...". To me it doesn't make much sence to have both options activated. So why don't make a combobox with these two options?

Have you considered using forum contributor MVP MudCrab's program named DriveNotify.
What this does is part of the task and when the backup task is started, Drive Notify pops up an information Window reminding you to attach the proper drive. The Window remains open until you either attach the drive or cancel the task. A free and "for pay" version exists. Check my signature below for more information.

I also have a similar problem with Acronis True Image Home 2010, Build 6053. I back up to a USB Buffalo Drive station and have ticked 'if missed run when device is attached'. It's very 'hit and miss' whether the backup takes place or not. Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.
I know 2010 is outdated now, but reports on the internet for Home 2011, are not very good, many saying they wish they had never upgraded as they had no problems with 2010 but have loads with 2011. So I don't see me upgrading to get around the problem with not backing up when device attached.

Michael,
Recently, a new build was released for the 2010 version. It may be more dependable. You could also use Drive Notify as a reminder as to when to attached the Buffao and the backup would not run until the Buffalo was attached.
