Agent lässt sich nicht am Management Server registrieren

Thread needs solution

Hallo zusammen,

Wir versuchen gerade auf einem alten Windows XP SP3 Prüfstand das Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 zum Laufen zu bringen, scheitern aber daran, dass sich der Agent nicht am Server registriert.

- Virenschutz haben wir bereits deaktiviert

- Firewall ist aus

- Zugrff auf die Adminshares z.B. C$ funktioniert

- Service mms.exe läuft stabil und stürzt nicht ab.

Komisch ist auch, wenn wir die Installation vom Server aus starten, dauert sie länger als die unattended direkt auf dem Client, ist aber anschließend unvollständig. Z.B. fehlen dann der Tray Monitor und das CommandLineTool.

Wird der Client manuell installiert scheitert es aber wie oben geschrieben, am Registrieren des Agens auf dem Server.

Wird das Registrieren mit dem Tool "register_agent.exe -o register -a Server-IP" ausgeführt kommt folgender Fehler:

In der MMS.log steht, dass der Dienst einen HTTP Server auf Port 127.0.0.1:43234 aufbaut.

Mittels Netstat sieht man beim starten des Acronis Managed Maschine Service kurz ein SYN_SENT auf den Port, aber es kommt nie zu einem ESTABLISHED und nach ein paar Sekunden verschwindet er. Also scheint der Service nicht wirklich auf den Port zu hören.

Wir stehen mit unserem Acronis Rollout erst am Anfang, haben aber bereits 36 Clients ausgerollt und bisher kein solch schwerwiegendes Problem gehabt und sind somit auch mit unserem Latein am Ende.

Please collect 2 Acronis System Information from Acronis Agent for Windows XP and Acronis Management Server machines and upload both reports to an FTP link that I've sent you in a Private Message.

Hello Andreas.

Thank you for sharing the logs.

The registration failure occurs and the mms service fails because the Agent for Windows XP is not properly installed.

We recommend completely uninstall the previously installed versions and rename the \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\BackupServer folder. Then please perform a new clean install.

Hello Maria,

after uninstalling the agent the folder Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\BackupServer doesn´t exist anymore. I removed every trace of of the agent under Documents and Settings\All Users, Program Files, Common Files and in the registry. After that I tried to reinstall the client locally and it still had the same issue.

After that I cleaned everything again and tried the remote installation again. With the same results as the many times before. The Installation takes very long, then the server tells me the client has installed and when i look at the client not all components have been installed and he isn´t registered.

I can provide you the remote installation Log as well. Packed it is 670KB in size.

Hello Andreas.

I strongly recommend that you open a case with Acronis Support Team since this issue requires deeper investigation. Please share with engineers a link to this forum thread and FTP link with System Information gathered from your machines.

I haven´t contacted your support but found a workaround for this problem, that has been working for the past 2 weeks.

The upgrade_tool.exe that seems to be started trough the mms.exe service is causing the problems on that client. I have created a batch file that waits a few second after logon to the machine and kills the upgrade_tool.exe. Then the clients connects to the management server, pulls it backup plan and backups nicely.

However, when the upgrade_tool.exe isn´t running, you are no longer able to start a backup manually from the server. Only the scheduled backups are running. But for now, that´s okay with me.

Why, i can´t tell because in the Log files I can only see that the upgrade tool checks if Acronis files need to be updated.
