Cannot authenticate or add Storage Node after upgrade from 12.5 to 15

Thread needs solution

We have used Acronis Backup 12.x for many years and has been working fine, until we upgrade it to version 15. After the upgrade, which was successful without error, but all the protection plans disappeared. Fortunately we have documented all the backup plans. When we recreate the backup plans, the backup location allows us to select the existing Storage Node (local attached NAS), then it prompted us to authenticate. We tried different admin credential and it won't take it. Anyone come across this issue?

Thanks for your assistance in advance!

Hi James,

I experienced a maybe similar issue. I upgraded from 12.5 to 15 and now cannot restore backups (triggered from the web interface).
Machine boots linux image from local disk
Machine connects to StorageNode, stating "Activity '...' failed. The credentials for location 'mylocation' are not specified.
Machine reboots.

The user is in the Acronis ASN Remote Users group on the storagenode, downloading data from an archive from web interface works fine (with that exact user).

Troubleshooting suggests, specifying credentials for that very user in the protection plan. Seems illogical, as only the very user, that created the plan could restore?!?

Supportcase 04643180 was created. Will reply, if the cause was found.

Kind regards

SEGB

Hello James,

Welcome to Acronis Cyber Protect forum!

Please check whether the Storage Node is configured to use your proxy server for network communication as described in product's documentation: https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisCyberProtect_15/index.html#47049.html

If it is not the cause, collect process monitor logs from Agent machine when reproducing the failure, system information from the Agent and Acronis Storage Node and share these reports with Acronis Support Team.
